Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy (MTPT)
MTPT is billed specifically on time and consumable products used during the session. Therefore, a person with an isolated condition will take less time to treat and result in less fees paid opposed to a person with a widespread, chronic condition. We find that this approach saves both time and money -- making everyone happy! Remember, most people note a significant improvement within 4-6 regularly scheduled visits.
| First Session | 75-90 min | $75-95* |
| Follow up | 30-45 min | $35-50* |
| 50-60 min | $50-60* (additional time is billed $1/min) |
Additional Product Fees
| Product | Fee | Description |
| Vapocoolant (cold spray) | $5 | used as an adjunct to enhance and speed up the effect of therapy. |
| Kinesio Tape | $2/ft | Taping involves the use of a special elastic tape where the adhesive is formulated to bond well with the skin. An explanation of this technique can be seen here. |
| Moist Heat | FREE | Targeted and intense moist heat is a component of nearly every session, unless contraindicated by the condition. |
| Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (Gua Sha) | FREE | This technique is used to create a localized inflammation which activates the regenerative processes of the targeted tissue. It is only utilized in certain situations and in the absence of any contraindications. Since this technique can leave significant redness on the skin, due to blood vessel hemorrhage, called petechiae -- a full explanation will precede the use of this technique. The petechiae are painless and generally last only 3-5 days. |
| Cupping | FREE | "Cupping" is used to pull additional circulation to a specific region of the body. This technique is applied using a pump to induce a vacuum in a specially designed plastic cup. This technique is used only in certain situations and in the absence of contraindications. |
Late Cancellation and No-show Policy Once an appointment is scheduled, all requests for that appointment time are refused. Therefore we ask that all cancellations be made 24 hours prior to the appointment time. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the appointment time OR after 3pm on Friday for a Monday appointment, fee of $25 is due before a next appointment can be made. A person who has been in violation of this policy three times will be required to keep a credit card on file, which will be charged under violation of this policy. Exceptions to this policy are during the winter months when road conditions affect the safety of our clients, patients, and associates as well as any reasonable occurance where a swift alteration in daily schedule is required. |
